How this library is maintained
PortalMine articles are organized around tasks a server owner must complete: diagnose a symptom, protect data, make a controlled change, verify the result, and preserve a rollback path. Each guide includes operational context rather than only a list of commands, because the same command can be safe in one environment and destructive in another.
Content is reviewed for internal consistency, practical usefulness, and clear scope. Version-specific behavior can change, so guides avoid presenting unsupported compatibility claims as permanent facts. Readers are directed to test on copies and consult current project documentation whenever a server build, plugin, mod loader, or hosting environment controls the exact procedure.
Start with the problem, not the tool
For crashes, begin with the first meaningful error and the change that preceded it. For lag, separate network delay from tick delay, then measure CPU time, chunks, entities, memory, and extensions. For data risk, stop writes, preserve the original files, and verify a backup before attempting repair.
The expanded library adds complete runbooks for migration, monitoring, scheduled restarts, chunk pregeneration, entity hotspots, Java garbage collection, plugin updates, Bedrock connectivity, Java–Bedrock crossplay, disaster recovery, latency planning, resource packs, and plugin databases.
