Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Important note

This policy describes how PortalMine handles data when you browse the site and use the service. If you have questions, contact us at support@portalmine.com.

1) Who we are

PortalMine (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a web platform for creating and managing Minecraft servers. Our public website is available at portalmine.com.

If you have privacy questions, contact support@portalmine.com.

2) What data we collect

  • Account data: username, email address, and authentication information (stored securely).
  • Service usage: server metadata (server name, version), basic events (start/stop), and error logs needed to operate the service.
  • Device & access data: IP address, approximate location (derived from IP), browser type, and pages visited for security and analytics.
  • Support data: messages and attachments you send to support.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of personal data. If you send it to support, please remove unnecessary sensitive details.

3) How we use data

  • Provide the service: create accounts, manage sessions, run the dashboard, and operate servers.
  • Security & abuse prevention: detect suspicious activity, limit spam, and protect the platform.
  • Support: respond to your requests and troubleshoot problems.
  • Improve the product: understand which pages/features are used and fix usability issues (analytics may be optional).

4) Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you logged in (essential cookies)
  • Remember preferences (language, cookie settings)
  • Measure performance (optional analytics)

Details are in the Cookie Policy. You can change your preferences using the “Cookie settings” button in the footer.

5) Legal bases (if applicable)

Depending on your jurisdiction, we may process data under one or more legal bases, such as:

  • Contract: to provide your account and the service you request
  • Legitimate interests: security, abuse prevention, service reliability
  • Consent: for optional analytics cookies (where required)

6) Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary to provide the service and meet legal obligations. Example retention approach:

  • Account data: for the lifetime of your account
  • Security logs: limited period (e.g., 30–180 days) unless needed for investigation
  • Support tickets: until resolved + a limited follow-up window

7) Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to certain processing.

To request changes, email support@portalmine.com from your account email.

8) Children’s privacy

PortalMine is not intended for children under the minimum age required by local law to use online services without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us to request deletion.

9) Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our service evolves. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of the policy and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.

Additional privacy details

This section expands the PortalMine Privacy Policy in plain language. It should be read together with the sections above. PortalMine collects only the information reasonably needed to operate accounts, provide server controls, protect the platform, answer support requests, meet legal obligations, and—when enabled with the appropriate consent—measure site use or display advertising.

Information we may process

  • Account information: username, email address, password hash, verification status, account timestamps, and authentication records.
  • Server information: server name, edition, selected software/version, identifiers, configuration, status, files, logs, connection details, resource and session information.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, request timestamps, security events, diagnostic data, cookie choices and technical security events used to protect accounts and diagnose service errors.
  • Support information: messages, screenshots, attachments, troubleshooting details, and correspondence history.
  • Advertising and analytics information: consent signals, page views, interactions, approximate location derived from IP, device identifiers, and cookie information processed by approved providers when those services are enabled.

Google advertising disclosures

When Google advertising services are enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor’s prior visits to PortalMine or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Users can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. More information about Google’s advertising technologies is available at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Other advertising vendors may provide their own opt-out tools and privacy notices.

For visitors in regions where consent is required, advertising and related storage should not be activated until the required choice has been collected through an appropriate consent-management process.

Purposes and legal bases

Depending on location and context, data may be processed to perform a contract with a user, provide requested services, protect legitimate interests such as security and fraud prevention, comply with legal duties, or act on consent for optional analytics and personalized advertising.

Retention

Account and server records are retained while needed to provide the service and for a reasonable period afterward for security, dispute resolution, backups, and legal obligations. Logs and fraud-prevention records may follow shorter or longer schedules depending on risk. Backup copies can persist temporarily after deletion.

Sharing and service providers

PortalMine may share limited data with hosting, infrastructure, email, security, authentication, analytics, advertising, support, and payment providers as needed for their services. Data may also be disclosed to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or support a business transfer. PortalMine does not sell account credentials or server files.

Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, users may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. Requests can be sent to support@portalmine.com. Identity or account ownership may need to be verified. Withdrawing consent does not make earlier lawful processing invalid.

Children, security, and international processing

PortalMine is not intended to collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. Parents or guardians who believe a child submitted information without appropriate permission should contact support. PortalMine uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online system is completely secure. Providers and infrastructure may process information in countries other than the user’s own, subject to available legal safeguards.

Contact and changes

Privacy questions and requests can be sent to support@portalmine.com. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, when appropriate, providing additional notice.

Advertising status and sponsored content

Third-party display advertising is disabled while PortalMine is being reviewed for Google AdSense. If advertising is enabled later, sponsored placements will be clearly distinguishable from site navigation, server controls, and download or action buttons. PortalMine will use the consent and privacy controls required for the visitor’s region before activating optional advertising storage.

The dashboard coin timer in this build is a PortalMine feature and does not require a visitor to click, view, or interact with an advertisement. Future sponsored content, if enabled, will be operated under the applicable provider terms and identified as advertising.
